What is a cracked heat exchanger and why can't you just fix it?
The heat exchanger separates combustion gases from the air you breathe. A crack can leak carbon monoxide into the home, so it is a safety condition, not a patch job. A cracked exchanger means the furnace is replaced, not repaired.
Why is my furnace blowing cold air?
